                           Mission Statement            

  The Urban Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (UCAP) is a non-profit   appraisal organization/ school/ operating foundation, who’s exclusive   purpose is to provide appraisal training, contracting opportunities,   professional development skills, and right-of-way agent training to   students that have an interest in a professional career in real estate appraisal or the right-of-way industry. 

 UCAP’s vision includes a unique specialized multifaceted training program, “The Urban Real Estate Training Initiative”, that offers alternative real-world solutions to some of the barriers of entry in the      real estate appraising and the right-of -way industry.

 Partnership

  UCAP will foster diversity, equity and inclusion as well as partnerships with other organizations to provide access to resources and contracting opportunities, which will provide those small businesses potential for growth. 

 

 Inequality isn’t just a social issue; it’s also a business issue. Companies   such as (Banks, Appraisal Management Companies and others) today   must act to create a world that respects everyone’s dignity and makes   equal opportunities available to all.

 Empowerment

 

  UCAP has affiliations with local, state and government entities to provide   access to resources, contracts and economic opportunities for those small   businesses which will allow those businesses room for expansion.

 

 Create change by training new appraisers who have had barriers of entry       into the appraisal profession, and empowering them by teaching students     the necessary skills to become professional appraisers such as;

  • Professional Development Skills

  • Advanced Appraisal Training Methods

  • Teaching students how to research, analyzed and collected data for accurate valuations of Residential Real Estate Appraisal Reports and Automatic Valuation Modules.

  • E-learning tools surrounding common Appraisal Issues & Problems.

  • Seminars

  • Webinars

  • Workshops

  • Volunteer Events

  • Appraisal Courses

  • Other Programs

 

 Transformation

  UCAP will impact change on a national level through its collaborations     with   larger non-profit organizations on policies, in the banking and appraisal   industry.  And help craft guidelines and regulations reducing  issues such as Appraisal Bias and help in closing the Appraisal Gap for minority appraisers.

                 

   The Urban Coalition of Appraisal Professionals will offer, 

  a variety courses that are directly or indirectly related to the

  appraisal industry.  We offer courses for the residential

  appraisers, other real estate professionals, and right-of-way 

  agents.

                     22-A101: Appraisal Bias - That's All My Home Worth?

 Course Description:  - This course will identify some of the issues, provide a

few individual case studies, explain what other in the industry are doing and provide an open discussion on how to fix some of the problems that plague the appraisal industry.
